De Duane Jr. is een ideale studio versterker. Het hand gebouwde 5F1 buizen schema is aangepast met een toonregelaar om de versterker veelzijdiger te maken.
Het geluid van de Duane Jr. is levendig en direct met de typische compressie die je bij een goed ontworpen en gebouwde buizenversterker verwacht. Heel inspirerend!
Doordat deze versterker een vermogen van maar 5 Watt heeft, kan je de vervorming en compressie van de eindbuis gebruiken, het geluid van de rockgoden! Deze versterker reageert heel erg op hoe je speelt. De dynamiek en instellingen van de toonregelaar op je instrument hebben direct effect op het geluid. Een supervervormd geluid kan je cleaner krijgen door je volumeregelaar terug te draaien. De Duane Jr. is een reactief deel van je geluid, waarbij het formaat in tegenstelling staat tot het grootse geluid. In opname situaties zal je ervaren dat “less is more”. De ervaring te horen hoe helden als Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Duane Allman of Billy Gibbons met een 5F1 type versterker de beste sound konden opnemen, laat een onuitwisbare indruk achter.

Naast een supergluid in de pure vorm, is de Duane Jr. een prachtig platform voor het gebruik van effectpedalen. De response is fantastisch en het pure buizengeluid blijft overeind staan, ook nadat je sound totaal veranderd is door de gebruikte effecten. Standaard heeft de Duane Jr. een buizen gelijkrichter die voor een natuurlijker compressie zorgt en een 6V6 eindversterker buis die dynamisch en levendig klinkt. De enige voorversterker buis is een 12AX7. Door deze 12AX7 door een 12AT7, AY7 of AY7 te vervangen vergroot je je de geluidsmogelijkheden. Al deze alternatieven hebben een lagere output, waardoor de Duane Jr. pas later zal vervormen, langer clean blijft. De Duane Jr klinkt altijd muzikaal en je zult merken dat de Duane Jr. je favoriete studio en thuis versterker wordt.

Standard fitted with a 12AX7 pre-amp tube, the Duane Jr. is most versatile when playing with different pre-amp tubes, like 12AT7, 12AU7 etc, Where the 12AX7 will yield distortion and fuzz-like tones at lower volume settings, the 12AT7, 12AY7 and 12AU7 tubes will all yield cleaner tones. All sounding very musical and letting you optimise your guitar-amp combination. You will notice that the Duane Jr. will become your favourite amp for studio and practise use.
